Zoltan Istvan, transhumanist and author, presents the case for techno-optimism and the concepts of life extension. “We didn’t evolve through billions of years to remain animals. In the 21st Century—the age of unparalleled scientific and technological achievement—everyone faces a Transhumanist Wager,” says Istvan.
In his recent book The Tranhumanist Wager Istvan outlines three laws:
- A transhumanist must safeguard one’s own existence above all else.
- A transhumanist must strive to achieve omnipotence as expediently as possible — so long as one’s actions do not conflict with the First Law.
- A transhumanist must safeguard value in the universe — so long as one’s actions do not conflict with the First and Second Laws.
In this presentation, Zoltan will explore the three laws and answer live audience questions.
